Any word on what it was? I missed fp1 working in the shop.giantfan10 wrote:Looks like engine problems for Rosberg, was in "limp home mode" not sure how serious. Maybe driving around and around in testing actually means nothing.

it was at the very end of FP1.... i was watching the NBC stream with no commentary so there was no explanation just the radio convo between Rosberg and the pit wall. He was asking if he was allowed to shift because the car was in limp home mode(he was going very slowly) the response from the pit wall was that he was allowed to shift and that it was an engine problem.dans79 wrote:Any word on what it was? Some people were commenting that it could be a serious tyre issure in this GP. Is there any proof of that?Webber2011 wrote:WOW !
2 failed left rear tyres for Massa, the one for Magnussen all within about 20 minutes !
Red Flag.
*Edit*
Pat Symmonds reporting suspected wheel rim failures.
Magnussen possible brake or suspension failure.
He was warned of brake problems shortly before his tyre let go.

It doesnt sound quite logic if he wants to overtake cars on Sunday.dans79 wrote:Looks like Lewis is running a Heavy DF set up, he isn't even in the top 10 on the speed trap times i just saw.
If he is running extra DF, he will be able to follow closer entering the back strait, and then be able to better utilize DRS.Vasconia wrote:It doesnt sound quite logic if he wants to overtake cars on Sunday.dans79 wrote:Looks like Lewis is running a Heavy DF set up, he isn't even in the top 10 on the speed trap times i just saw.
He'd gain on both of them in corners, as both those teams run low drag low DF setups.Vasconia wrote:But the could have problems to overtake cars like the Williams or Force India.
Theory is easy, but reality is another thing. He could have problems than you expect is the top speed of these cars is much better.dans79 wrote:He'd gain on both of them in corners, as both those teams run low drag low DF setups.Vasconia wrote:But the could have problems to overtake cars like the Williams or Force India.
Call it what you will, but its a valid set-up that has been used to good effect on this track before.Vasconia wrote: Theory is easy, but reality is another thing. He could have problems than you expect is the top speed of these cars is much better.
