Kubica is a "good benchmark" for Heidfeld
In the 2008 Formula One season to date, BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Robert Kubica has been convincing, delivering on a consistent level. For Nick Heidfeld, the performances of his team-mate represent a perfect reference point.
With eleven races contested and 49 World Championship points to his tally, Robert holds an eight-point lead over Nick in the Drivers' Championship. Although the Hungarian GP didn't run according to plan for Nick and the BMW Sauber F1 Team, the German's tally is also impressive. On a total of three occasions, Nick finished runner-up this year.
"At certain times this season I had my problems when it came to getting the maximum out of the car," admits Nick Heidfeld. "But it is beneficial having the data and knowing that Robert gets on very well with it. It is also good seeing that in the races my performances have quite often been similar to Robert's. I would call him a good benchmark, at the moment."
