Rome wants to organise street race
The Italian capital city, Rome, is considering a Formula One street race. The idea of a street race on the outskirts of the ancient city comes from former driver Maurizio Flammini. After introducing the idea in 1984, he now again made the proposal to the city officials.
A city council spokesperson declared to news agency 'Reuters': "It's an idea Flammini has proposed and mayor Gianni Alemanno has said it is possible."
We have already reported earlier on that Flammini would like to see the Rome Grand Prix on the calendar from 2011.
