Ron Dennis opens "20 Ways F1 is changing our world" - exhibition
On 11 March 2009 Ron Dennis, Chairman and Chief Executive Office of the McLaren Group, opened the Science Museum's new exhibition "Fast Forward: 20 Ways F1 is changing our world". This new free exhibition at the Science Museum opens just a few days before the 2009 Formula 1 season kicks off in Australia.
On display are 20 spin-offs of Formula 1 technology, many of which have been developed by McLaren Applied Technologies, part of the McLaren Group which Ron oversees.
Ron Dennis said, "A wide range of unrelated industries have been beneficiaries of Formula 1 innovation - and just a few of these are represented here in this showcase of scientific application. But the Fast Forward exhibition at the Science Museum is not merely a chance to reflect on the past and future role of Formula 1, or even McLaren, in innovating. The most powerful role to be played is to inspire the next generation of Britons to embrace science, technology and engineering to innovate and provide answers to the challenges of tomorrow."
