Horner sympathises with the F1 fans
Red Bull Racing's team principal, Christian Horner, apologised to the Formula One fans for the politics this season and the row between the FIA and the Formula One Teams Association, FOTA. Yesterday, eight teams, inlcuding the Milton Keynes-based outift, announced a breakaway series as they failed to reach an agreement with the governing body.
During the Friday press conference, Horner said: "I only sympathize with the public who must be - as F1 fans - be confused and, to a certain degree, dismayed with what is currently going on. We have got a wonderful championship this year, Silverstone's last F1 Grand Prix and politics that, quite simply, are difficult for the general public to comprehend and understand."
"F1 should be about what happens on the track," Horner added. "The political-related problems are taking up far too much of, not only our time, but other people's time."
