Renault announce a Monaco launch
The Renault F1 Team has announced that the official launch and presentation of the 2006 car and season will be held in Monaco, on Tuesday, 31 January 2006. This will come after the track debut of the R26 car which will defend the team's world championship titles, which is planned to run for the first time on 10 January, 2006 in Jerez.
Armed with the R25 this year, Fernando Alonso won seven Grand Prix on the way to the drivers' title while the team won the constructors' championship by 21 points from rival McLaren Mercedes.
"It is still possible to do a better season, to win more races, to finish on the podium more often," stated Renault F1 President, Patrick Faure. "I think this must be our main goal for the 2006 season. The team is working very hard in preparation for next season and we can’t wait to get to Bahrain for the first Grand Prix. We hope to be able to perform to the same level, if not higher, as we did this year."
