WilliamsF1 driver Mark Webber spoke of his confidence of the team been successful in the 2006 F1 season. After early runs with the teams new Cosworth V8 engine and Bridgestone tyres Mark is encouraged by the results. He is also looking forward to competing with new team-mate Nico Rosberg, son of Champion Keke Rosberg.

Over the last few weeks the WilliamsF1 team has returned to the test track for their winter testing programme with Cosworth power and Bridgestone tyres team driver Mark Webber spoke of his confidence that the team will improve on their 2005 season. In an interview for the WilliamsF1 team Mark spoke of his feelings after completing the teams early testing programme running an updated FW27.

Mark Webber "Obviously you realise the changes caused by the switch to V8 power-units. There is less power, and as a driver you are not happy with this. In consideration of this fact, our lap times were relatively good and I'm anxious to see how the forthcoming season will unfold, though I'm confident we will be successful."

As for the teams difficult 2005 season Mark spoke of how frustrating the season was but despite this the last few races saw the team put in some encouraging performances. Despite the poor results Mark felt that he came away from the season learning a lot.

"We definitely hoped to do better. It was frustrating for everybody. The season finished off okay, as we succeeded in improving our performance and managed to secure some good results. The middle part of the championship, however, was very hard for us - and there were many races together in a row. It was a long, hard season, but I learned a lot."

As for 2006 Mark was aiming to improve on this years results and that his new team-mate Nico Rosberg was ready for the season ahead.

"My goal is, of course, to finish better in the championship than this year. But it's always the driver and the team together. Should we succeed as a team in being competitive right from the start, the result will automatically follow. Nico Rosberg is a young, highly motivated teammate. He is absolutely ready to go. He had a great season in GP2 and if he is not ready, then I really don't know who is. I'm looking forward to the battles with him."
