Fisico becomes a GP2 team owner

Giancarlo Fisichella is set to be joining forces with Coloni Motorsport to run a team in the GP2 series next season. The star’s Fisichella Motorsport squad, which he co-owns with his manager, won the Italian Formula 3000 title this year with driver Luca Filippi.

Now the team is set to make the step up into GP2 – the feeder category to Formula One – by forming a joint venture with existing GP2 team owner Paolo Coloni. The team will be called Fisichella Motorsport International.
