Schumi has a bad start
Michael Schumacher’s return to a Formula 1 cockpit after his post-season break got off to an ignominious start at Jerez this morning, when he buried his Ferrari in a gravel trap after only a handful of laps.
The seven-times world champion was trying out the Italian team’s V8 engine for the first time when he lost control at the second-gear Turn 2 (ironically known as Michelin corner). The F2005 stopped short of the barrier and was winched away without any visible damage.
The German is expected to return to action later today.
