Pirelli takes over from Bridgestone as sole tyre supplier

After the World Motor Sport Council, the FIA announced that Pirelli will become Formula One's sole tyre suplier for three years starting in 2011. Pirelli will take over the role of Bridgestone who will pull out of the sport after this season.

The FIA statement said: "Pirelli has been selected as the single tyre supplier for the FIA Formula One World Championship for a period of three years, commencing in 2011. The sole supplier will undertake to strictly respect the sporting and technical regulations implemented by the FIA."
