Alonso tops Belgian Friday
During the second free practice session of the Belgian Grand Prix, Fernando Alonso clocked once again the fastest lap time. At the historic Francorchamps track, the Spanish Ferrari driver was faster than Force India's Adrian Sutil and McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.
Alonso set the quickest time in the final seconds as the track was continuously drying up. Adrian Sutil was thereby topped after running impressive in every track condition.
There was only a shower in the early stages of the session which caught out Tonio Liuzzi and Timo Glock. The Italian Force India driver made it back to the pits for a front wing change, but Timo Glock could not continue after he planted his Virgin Racing car into the barriers.
The session was black flagged for more than 10 of the last 15 minutes as organisers was looking to spectators who had come in a dangerous area. It was only 3 minutes before the end of the session that the queue of cars were allowed to leave the pits and improve their times.
