Zonta disappointed
Yesterday was announced that the Panasonic Toyota Racing Team cannot run a third car in Friday practice sessions next season. Teams that do not finish in the top four in the previous season are eligible to run the third car and Toyota finished fourth during the 2005 championship, with 12 points more than Ferrari.
Bad news for Ricardo Zonta who has enjoyed his role in the Friday test sessions throughout the past season.
Ricardo Zonta “Of course it's disappointing not to be driving, as I was having a lot of fun on Fridays. I will still go to each Grand Prix, but it won't be as much fun as when I was in the car!”
