JV hoping for successful season
BMW purchased a majority stake in the Sauber team last year and so began the countdown to the German manufacturer's first F1 grand prix as a team owner, the 2006 Bahrain GP. The race will be the culmination of months of hard work getting the new F1 team ready for action and takes place on March 12th.
Jacques Villeneuve and new team-mate Nick Heidfeld will contest BMW-Sauber's inaugural race.
The Canadian wants to do everything whats in his power to make it a successful rookie year for the BMW Sauber F1 Team.
Jacques Villeneuve "Setting up a new team is a very complex task. I've been through it before. But I believe that the prerequisites that have come together here are good. I want to do my best to help the BMW Sauber F1 Team achieve success."
Asked for his thoughts on the upcoming season, JV said: "It will be better than last year. But it is impossible to know exactly where we stand right now."
