The Super Aguri Formula 1 team completed its second day of testing at the Circuit de Catalunya, this time with Japanese driver Yuji Ide behind the wheel of the SA05. Ide covered a total of 44 laps, his fastest in 1’24”455.

Mark Preston, Chief Technical Officer “Today was Yuji’s first run in an F1 car during an official test. The main aim of the day was to allow him to acclimatise himself to F1 levels of downforce and power, and to put further mileage onto the SA05 systems car. Running was halted by an electronics problem on the gearbox, but Yuji completed 44 laps which is encouraging progress for the team.”

Tomorrow the Super Aguri Formula One Team will complete its Barcelona test programme with Sato and Ide behind the wheel.
