Alonso to surprise with his ultimate choice
Fernando Alonso has been dominating the driver market this year by flirting with different teams. The Spanish champion admitted that he has set his plans for next year a few months ago.
After failing to secure a title with Ferrari for five consecutive years, Fernando Alonso started looking for a rescue plan to get a chance to materialize the peak form of his career. The Spaniard said that he has already made a decision about the team that could give him the best machinery in next year’s campaign.
“My future is already set. Already set in my mind for some months. We are finalizing everything. It is not a big thing.”
Alonso didn’t make it clear when he would announce his plans, but disclosed that everyone would be caught by surprise by how obvious his plan was.
“I think you need to be patient, you need to wait a little bit until everything is completely done. But you know it's good. When you learn about it you will say it was obvious that I would do that.”
Despite having problems with the new team management of Ferrari, Alonso wasn't reluctant to admit that he is still passionate about the great fabled Italian team.
”We will do the best for my future and the best for the future of Ferrari as well because it is the team I love.”
Alonso's obvious desire would be to join Mercedes. With the field-leading team's seats already locked up, some suggest Alonso could decide for a sabbatical year before driving for the Brackley-based team in 2016. The double-champion didn't deny that he was about to take a year off in 2015.
“We will see.” – added Alonso.
