'Tough battles and a lot of fun' - Heidfeld

Nick Heidfeld finished twelfth in the Bahrain GP. Now, the German prepares for the next World Championship round, to be held in Malaysia. Nick talks about the special challenges represented by the Malaysian GP.

"The Malaysian Grand Prix is unusual, mainly for its high temperatures and extreme humidity," explains Heidfeld. "But basically I don't have a problem with that."

Unlike Bahrain with its dry weather conditions, Malaysia's tropical climate means that rain showers are a possibility. But Nick is a proven wet-weather expert, therefore he isn't prepared to lose his cool at the thought of having to cope with the dreaded monsoon rain. "We have experienced some incredible cloudbursts in Sepang, but I can live with that as I enjoy driving on a wet track," he adds.

In the past, the 5.543 kilometre 'Sepang International Circuit' has suited Nick well. In 2005, he finished third in the Malaysian Grand Prix. "Last year I started from tenth place and made it onto the podium - for me it was one of the most exciting races ever. I had some tough battles and a lot of fun," he says with hindsight.
