Engine changes - Malaysia

Not only Red Bull Racing driver David Coulthard will face a 10-place grid penalty this weekend at Malaysia but also Ferrari's Felipe Massa. Ferrari has decided it will change Massa's engine and thus the Brazilian will be penalized.

David Coulthard blew up his Ferrari engine after the chequered flag in the Gulf Air Grand Prix in Bahrain. Because it was after the chequered flag and not during the race, Coulthard will be penalized at Malaysia.

After the weekend, Ferrari examined both Schumacher and Massa's engine and found it wise to change Massa's engine for a brand new one, as it might not last until the end of the Malaysian Grand Prix.

Also Renault's Giancarlo Fisichella will have the advantage of a new V8 engine for this weekend's Malaysian Grand Prix. Fisico lost 50bhp by a software problem on his engine during the Bahrain Grand Prix before retiring from the race with a hydraulic problem. Because Giancarlo retired from the Bahrain GP, the Italian won't face a 10-place grid penalty this weekend.
