Red Bull reveals its 2021 F1 car, the RB16B

Red Bull Racing has become the fourth F1 team to present its 2021 F1 challenger, the new RB16B car, which is set to be piloted by Verstappen and Perez in 2021.

Red Bull Racing unveiled its new car, the RB16B that builds on the solid foundations of its predecessor, the RB16, which helped Max Verstappen clinch two Grand Prix victories during the 2020 F1 season.

On the surface the first images of the new car suggests that not too much has changed over the winter. And while the deferral of new regulations to 2022 means that indeed there is a lot of carryover to this season, the team has surely been working hard to further optimise details of the car's design, in line with its long running philosophy of narrowly tapering sidepods mated with an aggressive rake setup.

Not much can be said from these virtual renderings that teams these days reveal on their "launches", so we'll have to wait and see until the car hits the track to get an idea to what extent the aerodynamics have changed beyond modifications at the floor and rear brake ducts that were mandated in the regulations.

Perhaps more importantly are the changes underneath the skin of the car. For its final season in F1, Honda is introducing a new power unit and it’s this heavily revised beast that Max and Sergio will get a first taste of tomorrow.

The Milton Keynes-based outfit will field a refreshed driver line-up after Alexander Albon was demoted to a test driver role. The London-born Thai driver, who will drive a Ferrari 488 in the German Tourenwagen Masters, DTM in 2021, will be replaced by Sergio Perez.

After tomorrow's shakedown, the RB16B will first be driven in anger at pre-season testing at the Bahrain International Circuit on March 12-14, two weeks ahead of the season opening Bahrain Grand Prix on March 28.
