Alfa Romeo teams up with Edelweiss

The Alfa Romeo outfit has confirmed the Swiss leisure airline, charter airline Edelweiss as its newest partner. The carrier will acquire the designation of Swiss-Italian team’s Official Airline Partner and will support the team as it flies to race destinations around Europe and the World.

The airline was founded on 19 October 1995 in Bassersdorf, Switzerland, with just one aircraft, a McDonnell Douglas MD-83. The company's name is derived from the Swiss unofficial national flower, the Edelweiss, which is also painted on its aircraft.

The company is now Switzerland's leading leisure carrier, currently flying to 82 destinations in 38 countries around the world, including destinations in the Caribbean, Europe, Africa, Asia and The Americas.

The company prides itself on offering Swiss premium quality, living by and applying globally appreciated Swiss values: they cater to the individual needs of passengers with their distinct inflight-service in economy and business class, provided with the warmth and hospitality that Edelweiss is known for. Edelweiss is the sister carrier of SWISS International Air Lines and an affiliate of the Lufthansa Group.

Edelweiss branding will be visible on the Alfa Romeo Racing ORLEN C41 cars’ sidepod floorline.
