Gary Gannon, the former race engineer to Romain Grosjean, Mick Schumacher and Nico Hulkenberg at Haas, has become the latest big name to join Aston Martin ahead of the F1 2025 season.

It has now emerged that Gary Gannon left his role at Formula One's sole American team, Haas ahead of the upcoming season in a bid to join Aston Martin, taking on the role of senior race engineer.

Gannon most previously worked at Haas as race engineer. He acted as engineer to Romain Grosjean between 2016 and 2020. When the Swiss-French driver left Formula One, Gannon became the race engineer to Mick Schumacher, working with the German across the 2021 and 2022 season.

Following Schumacher's departure from the Kannapolis-based outfit, Gannon started to act as race engineer to Nico Hulkenberg, partnering the German over the past two seasons.

Gannon started his F1 career with the now-defunct Marussia team, working for the Banbury-based outfit for three years between 2011 and 2014.

Gannon has now joined Aston Martin as senior race engineer, but the Silverstone-based outfit is yet to confirm whether he replaced Fernando Alonso or Lance Stroll's race engineer. The Spaniard worked with Chris Cronin in 2024 while the Canadian was supported by Ben Michell and Andrew Vizard.
