Ahead of his debut season with the most successful F1 team, seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton has revealed that he intends to reignite his Formula One career with the bold move.

Lewis Hamilton announced his shock departure from Mercedes last February. The announcement caught the Formula One community by surprise, as the seven-time world champion was set to race for the Brackley-based outfit until the end of 2025.

However, an exit clause in his contract allowed Hamilton to leave the team in 2025 if he wished, and the Briton elected to terminate his contract in a bid to seek for a new challenge at Ferrari in the closing stages of his F1 career.

Hamilton is statistically the most successful driver in the history of Formula One, tied with the great German seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher on the number of world championship titles.

Reflecting on the switch from Mercedes to Ferrari, Hamilton has revealed that he intends to reignite his Formula One career with the bold move.

“Ultimately, every new opportunity is a total leap of faith. None of us can predict the future so changing jobs, or in my case teams, is always going to come with some level of risk.

“Call it instinct or a gut feeling, but I knew that signing with Ferrari was the right move for me and that it would give me the challenge I needed.”

Despite his long dominant years with Mercedes, the seven-time F1 champion has emphasized that he did never get complacent and he never forgot that success is not guaranteed at the pinnacle of motorsport.

“I look at every Formula 1 season like a new chapter. Even in the years when I’ve won races, trophies, and championships, I’ve known that nothing is guaranteed for the season ahead.”

“That mindset and continually making progress no matter how big or small, is what has pushed me to achieve more than I ever thought possible.”
