Kimi joins JP at Silverstone
Juan Pablo Montoya was joined at the Silverstone test today by team-mate Kimi Raikkonen to continue the testing programme for the week with the two Team McLaren Mercedes MP4-21s. With improved weather from yesterday, the track conditions allowed the team to focus on the Michelin tyre selection, with today's programme based on the Silverstone race. This resulted in both Juan Pablo and Kimi completing short runs during the day as different compounds and set-ups were evaluated.
In his second day of running at the home of the British Grand Prix, Juan Pablo covered 72 laps equating to just over 370km as he put in the fourth quickest time of the day, a 1m19.395.
Kimi ended the day in fifth on the timesheets, as he completed 190km over the course of 37 laps. An hydraulic issue with his MP4-21 saw Kimi stop running shortly before the end of the day.
Tomorrow sees the final day of the test, with both Kimi and Juan Pablo continuing driving duties.
