Rosberg vows to fight back

Following WilliamsF1's frustrating result at the United States Grand Prix - Nico Rosberg (above) was their only finisher in ninth place - the team has vowed to fight back. "You can't get much lower than that," said technical director Sam Michael. "Bridgestone supplied a good tyre, so we need to change everything else. There are no issues in terms of how we're working together as a team, but we need to focus harder and try to make a step forward. We'll re-analyse everything."

The team has come away from the North American double-header (Canada and USA) without adding to their points tally in the Constructors' Championship. According to Michael, there is a clear reason for this.

"Aero is a very dominant part of the car and there are some improvements that we need to make in that area. But we must also look at the whole package: if you look for one silver bullet, it won't come; you've got to have a programme to improve everything."

The team is testing an aerodynamic upgrade at Jerez this week, which they hope to introduce at the upcoming French Grand Prix on 16 July.

"We hope that we'll be better in Magny Cours," said Michael. "But that's also an aero-efficiency track, and that's where we're weak at the moment. We'll have to wait to find out where we'll be, but we will bounce back over the coming races. There is no way that we should be out of the points."
