Number 2 for Alonso?

By on

Fernando Alonso has taken a big step towards his second Championship win today at the circuit of Suzuka. Alonso took the win and the 10 points as Schumacher was left empty-handed as he suffered an engine blow. Michael Schumacher has to win at Interlagos if he still wants to win the title, but if Alonso takes 1 point, the Spaniard can crown himself king of F1 for the second year in a row.

Michael Schumacher has thrown the towel in the ring as he said that the Drivers' Championship is over now. Rival Fernando Alonso doesn't want to put it like that as he calls up on his team to stay focussed as the title can still slip through their hands in case of an accident or technical problem.

Ferrari seems to focus on the Constructors' title now as they are 9 points behind Renault and everything is still possible at Interlagos, the venue for the Brazilian Grand Prix that will take place on Sunday October, 22.

After the Japanese Grand Prix, everything is yet to be decided, although Renault and Fernando Alonso have the best cards on their hands. One thing is for sure, it has been a long time that the end of the F1 season has been as exciting as it is now! Schumacher will retire in style, with or without a new title.
