One of my nicest experiences - Heidfeld

BMW Sauber F1 Team driver Nick Heidfeld is already in his eighth year of F1 racing. During his career, the German driver has experienced highs and lows. The Bahrain GP, however, during which he was able to overtake Fernando Alonso, will remain a fond memory of his for a very long time.

"It was one of my nicest experiences in Formula One and my entire motorsport career," says Nick Heidfeld. "It's just so difficult to overtake in Formula One and of course it was a close move against Fernando - we almost touched in turn four but we both knew what to do."

Nick describes the spectacular move on lap 32: "I had better traction out of the corner. I was alongside him and he was on the inside and I knew it was going to be close. But in the end I was able to gain a few more decisive metres."

Not only Nick and his team-mate Robert Kubica were able to look back on their performances at the Bahrain GP with satisfaction. The rest of the team will also enter the next rounds of the season full of confidence and motivation. "I think it's important for the team that I finished fourth in each of the first three races and especially that we had a good weekend here and finished in the points with both cars," confirms Nick. "Everybody is working flat out - but with good results. Everybody is in a good mood and works even harder."
