Kubica has enormous potential - Theissen
For Robert Kubica, the 2007 Formula One season thus far hasn't run according to plan. Nonetheless, following two difficult races at the beginning of the year, the Pole scored his first three points in the third round in Bahrain. Mario Theissen is convinced that more good results will follow.
"Robert has enormous potential," Theissen says. "We know that the 2007 season will be a learning year for him. He had bad luck in the first two rounds, therefore, it was particularly important that he scored his first points in Bahrain."
During the season opener in Melbourne, a technical failure forced Robert into early retirement. In Malaysia, he had to settle for 18th place. However, despite the difficult start, both the 22-year-old and the team management kept their cool.
Theissen reveals: "I told Robert to take it easy. We are fully aware of his skills. He just needs some problem-free races, then things will get going automatically." Indeed, the sixth place secured in Bahrain demonstrated that Robert has what is needed to become a factor in the forthcoming rounds.
