Difficult day for Nakajima

AT&T Williams kicked off a three day test at the Circuit de Catalunya, in Barcelona, today. Test driver, Kazuki Nakajima, headed up testing duties in the FW29 among a full field of runners, which included Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, McLaren's Pedro de la Rosa and Nick Heidfeld in the BMW Sauber.

Under clear blue skies, the team spent the morning session running engine tests in preparation for the forthcoming race at the Spanish track in just under two week's time. Kazuki also worked through an extensive set-up programme.

Unfortunately, the team's work was cut short when Kazuki endured an off at turn 9 mid-way through the afternoon session. Fortunately, Kazuki walked away and the car will be worked on overnight to ensure it is ready for tomorrow's running when Nico Rosberg will take over testing duties.

Dickie Stanford, Test Team Manager, AT&T Williams “For our first day at the Barcelona test, we started a programme of engine tests in preparation for the race here. We also did some set-up work. At about 2pm this afternoon, however, Kazuki's session ended prematurely following an off at turn 9. He’s ok and the car will be fine to run tomorrow.”

Kazuki Nakajima completed the 14th quickest time of the day with a 1:24.241 on lap 26 out of 43.
