Honda signs new partnership with Scheckter’s Laverstoke Park

The Honda Racing F1 Team has teamed up with Laverstoke Park, one of the UK’s leading organic farms. Owned and managed by former Formula One World Champion Jody Scheckter, Laverstoke Park in Hampshire is one of the largest biodynamic farms in the world.

The agreement with the Honda Racing F1 Team will see Laverstoke Park providing organic meat from the animals raised on its farm, along with its dairy produce, fruit and vegetables to the team for its hospitality operations at the European Formula One races and tests, effective from this weekend’s Spanish Grand Prix.

Honda’s relationship with Scheckter and Laverstoke Park has evolved as a direct result of the team’s pioneering new environmental awareness campaign spearheaded by the myearthdream.com concept. As the partnership develops, the team will be investigating further synergies between the two enterprises, including the possible conversion of the team’s transporter fleet to run on pure plant oil fuel.

“We are delighted and very proud to begin this association with Laverstoke Park, commented Nick Fry, Chief Executive Officer. “Jody Scheckter is a familiar name to anyone involved in motor racing but his career since then has been equally impressive. Through our partnership with Laverstoke Park we can publicise that there are sustainable alternatives to many of our established practices.”

“When I first learnt that Honda had taken this brave and very honourable step to promote environmental awareness, then approached me to supply them with produce for their European races,” said Scheckter, “it soon became evident that there were many synergies between Laverstoke Park and not only the Honda Racing F1 Team but also some of the conservation work which Honda does in Japan. I became increasingly excited and look forward to having the opportunity to explore future collaborations between our two parties. This is such a great opportunity for us at Laverstoke Park!”
