The Italian ING Renault F1 Team driver, Giancarlo Fisichella, endured a tough afternoon at Indianapolis after a mistake on lap 2. But a dynamic drive from the back of the field showed some of his best qualities…

"I think I could have finished 5th or 6th… but unfortunately, I lost the rear end and spun on lap 2. I am really disappointed. I did a great race I think, I overtook a lot of other cars with a heavy fuel load, and that’s never easy. But it’s a shame about the mistake, because I could have scored some important points for the team today."

"Yes, it’s improving all the time. At this race, we were really close to BMW. We have a good level of potential and we will certainly be strong at the next race in Magny-Cours."
