Kubica not to test at Silverstone this week
Last Sunday Robert Kubica was replaced by Sebastian Vettel in Indianapolis. But the Pole hopes to be back behind the wheel at the next Grand Prix in Magny-Cours. The decision will be made after further examinations by the doctors.
While Robert didn't start at the US Grand Prix, the Pole certainly wasn't forgotten by his fans: the sea of Polish flags and banners with the BMW Sauber F1 Team driver's name were testament to Robert's popularity even as far afield as the States.
The fans may yet see Robert back in action in France. BMW Motorsport Director Mario Theissen explains: "Robert will have another check-up in Magny-Cours. Without wanting to preempt the doctors, I'm expecting it to be positive. As soon as we get the all clear from the doctors, Robert will be straight back in the driving seat."
Robert will definitely have to sit out of the BMW Sauber F1 Team's next appearance, however. "Robert won't be taking part in this week's test drives in Silverstone," says Theissen.
