Determined to get right back to the top - Kovalainen

The Finnish ING Renault F1 Team driver, Heikki Kovalainen, is satisfied as he moved up 3 places and finished in the points. Kovalainen finished the Hungarian Grand Prix in 8th position and collected a valuable point.

"It was long and above it was necessary not to make any mistakes. I made a good start on soft tyres and it was the right decision. Then we wondered if we should continue the second stint with the same type of compound, and we took the risk. After a bit of graining over a few laps the performance came back. I’m happy to have crossed the line in 8th place; maybe it’s only one point but it’s a small reward for all the work done this weekend."

"Yes, it was the result of my skirmish with Alonso at the start of the race. I knew there was a hole because the cockpit ventilation was very good! It didn’t upset me too much. When I saw that the front wing wasn’t damaged I knew I could continue to push."
