Briatore convinced of good 2008 season for Renault
Renault has increased its 2008 budget with €30 million as the team wants to return to the top. Not only the technical structure has been strengthened, the team also signed Fernando Alonso for next season. Alonso and Renault won the championship in 2005 and 2006.
Flavio Briatore said in the 'Gazetta dello Sport': "We have strengthened our technical structure, increased our budget by 30 million euros, and Alonso wants to win races with us again in 2008.
"Alonso is the best in the world, together with Michael Schumacher. Actually he makes even fewer mistakes than Michael. When we were apart, neither of us won."
Briatore is hopeful that, with Alonso again at the wheel, Renault can shine in the upcoming 2008 season: "I am sure that we will have a fast and competitive car and in 2008 be among the front-runners."
