A good start into the season - Kubica
The interim balance looks impressive: with three rounds contested in the 2008 season, the BMW Sauber F1 Team has secured three podium finishes, one pole position - and holds the lead in the Constructors' Championship. Robert Kubica talks about the successful start into the season and is delighted with the team's performance.
"At the beginning of the season we delivered on a consistent level," says Kubica. "We knew that we had recovered very well after having encountered a rather difficult start into the off-season testing. Consequently, I just hoped that we would be able to shine in the first three races of the season."
And these hopes came true, for the BMW Sauber F1 Team drivers: Nick finished runner-up in Australia, with Robert repeating this feat in Malaysia. And in the Bahrain GP, the Pole secured pole position to clinch another podium finish by coming third. No doubt: with three rounds of the season contested, the BMW Sauber F1 Team most definitely has established as one off the three top teams of Formula One.
"Quite obviously, there always is room for improvement but I think that both we as a team and me too can be happy with our performance. I think it was a good weekend and a good start into the season," Robert concludes with hindsight.
