Kovalainen conscious after high-speed crash
Heikki Kovalainen seems to be ok after his heavy crash during the Spanish Grand Prix. It appears that the Finn suffered a tyre puncture which caused his high-speed crash into the tyre barriers at Campsa.
The safety car was immediately called out, just like the medical car who drove directly to turn 9. The car was pulled out of the barriers and Kovalainen was taken away on a stretcher. He seemed conscious as he gave a thumbs-up to reassure his loved ones and his huge fan base.
