Important to continue to improve insists Alonso
Renault F1 Team driver and double World Champion, Fernando Alonso, insists that it is very important for his team to continue to improve as the French outfit aims to finish the season strongly. Although Alonso isn't having the most easy season, the Spaniard shows his militancy to push to team to 4th position in the standings.
Fernando Alonso said: "It’s important for us to continue improving because we want to finish this season strongly and have some good races. At the moment we are not on terms with the leading teams, but we are moving in the right direction.
Just like any other Grand Prix, the German race has its own difficulties. Not only is Hockenheim a physical track, it can also be very hot. In 2006, the last time the circuit was on the F1 calendar, the temperatures didn't drop under 32°.
"It’s a very physical track for the drivers. It can also be quite hot, which makes things difficult for the whole team," the Asturian driver continued.
Still, Alonso believes that he and the team will do well in Germany especially after last week's
three-day test session on the circuit. "We drove in Germany three days last week to improve the set-up of the car and so that we could approach the race in the best shape possible. I think that we have a good basis to work from when we start free practice on Friday. The R28 has performed well on different types of circuit already this season, and we must concentrate on realising our potential this weekend."
