Fifth place a nice surprise - Alonso
Renault F1 Team driver Fernando Alonso said he was surprised by his strong performance during the German qualifying session. The Spaniard was able to clock the fifth fastest lap time and with this was faster than World Champion Kimi Raikkonen in his Ferrari.
After getting out of his car, Alonso told to the reporters: "I am very happy, it's a nice surprise. We arrived in qualifying with some doubts about car performance," he said. "Nelsinho was out in Q1 so were concerned. This fifth place was a nice surprise in the end."
