Wurz evaluates 2009 slick tyres
The Honda Racing F1 Team’s Alex Wurz continued his driving responsibilities at the wheel of the Honda RA108 in Jerez today for the second day of this week’s test. The main item on the test programme was for Alex to evaluate the 2009 slick tyres provided by Bridgestone at this event.
The RA108 car was therefore set up in a reduced downforce configuration based on the levels of downforce which will be run in the 2009 season following the regulation changes. Running both the medium and hard compound tyres, Alex completed 77 laps over the day in extremely hot conditions as temperatures soared into the mid-thirties.
Rubens Barrichello will join the team in Jerez this evening in preparation for his day in the car tomorrow.
