You missed the start of the race then?
Yeah, missed the whole race actually. Was planning on catching it on replay but a Google notification spoiled the surprise.

But in any case, aren't incidents evaluated in isolation and not against any larger historical narrative? I think FIA has a bias towards consequence based judgements, but because this came out neutral I guess they don't intervene further.
I think you need to see it. Lap 1 Hamilton is in exactly the same situation and backed out. Verstappen had NO intention of doing so.
Let us not lie here. Hamilton didn't back out. He was behind & he tried to push Max out & since Max was ahead he was the one who had to go off track. But he never backed & tried to push Max off.

Here, Hamilton never gave Max a car's width when they were alongside when he was coming from his pitstop. He pushed Max into the sausage kerb & didn't leave any width when Max was alongside. It is a pattern which is going on since Silverstone. Hamilton will resort to any dirty act much like Abu Dhabhi 2016 !

Max's explanation to sky just now was painful 🤣
Extremely. Basically no answer to the question about the reverse situations and whether he could have gone across the cubs to avoid contact.

Well, he was alongside. Just at the dumbest place on the track. You can't take that corner like that. Hamilton was always going to take the corner that way. To actually 'own' that corner you need to be ahead going into it, instead of partially alongside.

It's a racing incident overall, but with Max being Max again.

the thing is - you take away Silverstone accident and this 99.9999999999999999999999% doesn't happen at all

and the same people who put the Silverstone blame on Max now blame this on him as well, both are racing incidents, and on on both occasions whoever had the larger share of blame KNEW EXACTLY what they were doing, and this will continue to happen unless they finally implement a rule to leave cars width if someone is alongside, else this "driving into disappearing wedge" will continue to happen till a fatal incident occurs, that much is clear to me

Damon Hill, let's not forget a victim of this sort of thing, rightly calling Verstappen out.

DiResta's defence is a bit embarrassing.

At the end of the day Mercedes and Lewis lost. They should have won the race and Lewis been leading the championships after this but nope. Max gains.

So Max comes out a rose. A smelly rose but a rose still.

Max saying he squeezed me and wouldn't work with me. Wow, the guy is full of it. Where was his working with Hamilton on lap 1?

He's trying to place the blame on Hamilton in his words. He's not saying "he took me out!". He's being very careful in what he says. It's like he's been coached what to say. Interesting.
Exactly, and when people like Brundle and Di Resta go on about they are racing hard, and things happen.

Where was that logic in SIlverstone ?

Looks like a racing incident like Silverstone and both again making a point of not conceding in decisive situations.

At least this one pays out pain equally to both, in terms of points lost, and the championship stays tight at the top.
Yes but Lewis was penalized... so if its just like Silverstone..then Max should be penalized like Lewis was.

Not an unsurprising outcome when you put two sociopaths behind the wheel in close proximity of one another with a world-wide audience, and a title on the line. Like two randy goats butting horns.

Verstappen clearly the 'initiator' of the accident here, in my opinion, although I suspect it will be classed as a racing incident.

Well done to Daniel Ricciardo, Lando Norris, and the entire McLaren team. Even without the Verstappen-Hamilton crash it looked like they might be capable of getting the W.

If Horners position is racing incident we know who was at fault!

Yeah, happy to call it a racing incident, and MAx entitled to the room, why was Lewis not entitled to room on lap 1.
