What? Yellow flag = yellow flag. You lift. Slam dunk penalty. It's not "symbolic". Didnt we have the same thing with VER last qualy? But FIA wants to keep the championship open it seems.

Then also blocking cars in fp3... Is HAM losing his nerves? Or is it too much information to process for him with the high speed track, tight walls and keeping eyes on the mirrors and flags.

Maybe it will be close after all.
Tell me you haven’t seen the footage without telling me you haven’t seen the footage.
I just watched, he was clearly passing a flashing yellow sign. If Max was at fault even while the lights were not flashing, than surely Hamilton was at fault here. Pretty ridiculous.
They seem to be playing the side of "let's keep the entertainment value" instead of the integrity, I think by the letter of the law it should be a penalty like How Verstappen's was - but then looking at the scenario there it really should not be penalty given it was for Tsunoda moving off track, kinda how he did the same thing for Perez in Mexico remember?. He somehow avoided an impeding penalty as well. Lucky would be an overstatement in this case, maybe blessed by the F1 gods.

This was for the flashing light going into turn 1 not the one flashing through the esses which flashed for 1 second and was set off accidentally according to the FIA

Max was given a grid penalty because a marshall accidentally waved double yellow, but a driver has to do as the marshall tells him.
Now the double yellow has been wrongly flashed and now the driver does not have to do what the light indicates and there is no grid penalty???
Ridiculous!!! What a joke!!!

Well, Max' marshall was waving unnecessarily too, and then they the verdict was a penalty. Yellow is yellow, as driver you don't know why it's there so you should respect it to be safe. The inconsistency is unbelievable, and once again FIA is making a highly disputable and potentially crucial decision favoring Hamilton.

Lewis seems to be struggling. Wonder if the track has been moving away from him today. He was impeded slightly S1, but doesn't explain the rest.

Some sort of thermal treatment that they figured would improve longevity or performance? Or just for familiarity like in Monaco with walls so close
