Merc reliability issue I wonder?

Not looking great for Ham
Could you explain how we can see the engine mode on that telemetry? What do the lines represent, engine revs?

How does he infer engine mode from just looking at the telemetry I wonder. They might've been on an aggressive mode, but hadn't pushed %100 on the quali lap, saving it for the race.
Modes are not just done using PU its other aspects too. Honda and RB pulled a blinder, they negated Mercs one advantage -straight line speed.
Rigth, but i ask myself why didnt redbul do it also previous faster race....

No grid penalty for Ocon blocking Seb only a fine and reprimand (his 2nd), all other blocking is no further action, so the grid stays as it was for a change.

I just looked at his telemetry from FP2 and it seems that he was slower in Q3 at the end of the first straight. I think that is why he assumed they are not using high engine modes

That straight line speed. Usually it is the other way around. Where is the rocket engine?

Seen MV's lap 4 times already, still shocked by the speed. Hamilton looks more stable in S3, but **** Verstappen pulled out a mighty one there.

Lockup intentional?
Yeah, he intentionally --- up his tires.

Geez, man.
Looks like I'm not the only one who thought it was intentional!

As you can't change engine modes from quality to race. There is other aspects you can play with to get maximum power all race. This is what the engine manufacturers have been playing with. On radio you hear them talk about modes and strats, to change. This is impacting power, diffs etc. Whats made Honda so good is they can run their engine and components on near max all race. This is where I think merc has had to catch up too and I think they have got there now.

If Max is planning on doing a one-stop with the soft, then Perez will be very key for them. He has to get past Norris. If he can do that, it will stop Hamilton from going too much longer than they go (similar to in COTA). Even better if he can get ahead of Hamilton at the start.

All comes down to how the middle stint tyre deg vs pace plans out.

Thats just the power of Honda! The W12 is the better car, but the Honda PU is the better PU. Strong and relaiable.
As I said before: Honda saved the best for the last race. :)

In a few hours, motor racing history will be made: either a man will win the F1 title for a record 8th time or another man will join the list of champions and become the 34th world champion.
If you are more fortunate than others, build a larger table not a taller fence.
