"just a sensor" resulted in perez having almost no chance against ferrari even with DRS, when we know for a fact ferrari is a sitting duck in normal circumstances, or do you really think horner was just making it up? You can't just dismiss it simply because perez had a similar trace on one of the laps. Perez was in slipstream on most of those laps and that helps a lot, even in 2022.
If you look the first laps after SC restart perez could barely reach 315 kmh at 0.6s gap (and sainz was pulling away from him, completely opposite to what we've seen for entire season so far) just before T11, while on lap 7-8 for example he could reach 316 kmh at 1.5s gap at was always gaining time on that straight, same with verstappen.
Yeah man, I think Horner is making it all up.

Here laps against Sainz:

Lap 49 (DRS):

I will not believe even for a second that he lost any hp from the engine.

hahaha ok, ok, now we know you have some axe to grind with the red bull team or somebody within it. I actually knew it already by a bunch of your recent posts, but now we can be sure =D>

Perez is probably also full of it in this interview:

Why even argue with a sure thing?

That's a non sequitur... What makes you think I have an axe to grind?

You said to look at the laps after SC restart, 47, 48 and 49 are those 3 laps where Checo was super close to SAI and he's lapping fast and his top speeds are faster than Verstappen who's fighting with Leclerc...

I'm not even making money discussing this stuff with you, nor I make money if either one team wins... I think Verstappen and Leclerc are in a class of their own and RedBull has build a very strong car, at least equal with Ferrari. I think you are reading my post in the wrong way or are reading too much into it.

More telemetry including Verstappen:

48: https://i.imgur.com/Wm1jTWF.jpeg
49: https://i.imgur.com/l9QGoEf.jpeg

Perez is respectively:
47: equal to sainz (both have tow, no DRS), Max 3kph faster
48: 8kph faster than sainz, 6kph faster than Verstappen
49: 20kph faster than sainz, 23kph faster than Verstappen

Now explain to me how you get to those top speeds while missing 30hp.

These number dont mean an awful lot when perez is constantly sitting in some kind slipstream, even red bulls of old with 50-60 bhp deficit could sometimes reach very high top speeds. Instead open the f1 app or live timing tracker on f1tv and go watch time lost/gained on straights before and after, especially after SC when perez is still losing out when at 0.5s gap from sainz (or just barely keeping up), specifically open this tab:

56: https://i.imgur.com/b5fpiqK.jpeg (+2 SAI, +3 VER)
57: https://i.imgur.com/StG4cAS.jpeg (+1 SAI, 0 VER)

These are all lap after safety car, including those after his failed pass attempt on SAI which set him back quite a bit.

And a 30hp loss is VERY noticeable, definitely doesn't allow you to be faster in a straight than your teammate who is fighting for position.

Lap 48 was 1.35 for PER and 1.34.8 for SAI... Still no idea what you are talking about.

Going back to Brazil last year I remember Horner and Marko whining about the Merc being unracable with a few kph top speed advantage. Wonder what they call this.
That was 30kph without DRS ...

I assume Perez lost some element of power delivery for a lap or two, Red Bull found a new engine map, this corrected the issue, and that Perez was operating at either full power (sustained mode) or very close to it for the remainder of the event.

Don't bother with the critics, the telemetry is appreciated.

For a race which was relatively closely contested, and included a battle for the lead, I was oddly bored. Unsure if it was the track's fault or simply a lack of interest on my part, but the entire event seemed a bit dull despite being hyped to the moon.

Binotto claiming Redbull cant develop with this rate 😂😂😂

Mattia, yes they can. They did in 2021 as well and FIA couldnt do anything.

It’s just a very dull venue. A concrete channel that could be absolutely anywhere. Sochi, Valencia…

I thought the race was decent and the track worked better than expected. Casual F1 watching family members were totally bored after 20 minutes though which wasn’t the case at Melbourne, Imola, even Bahrain…
