If you make it out in time then why not? Anyone could participate. It would be no different to what happens now except marginally less time.

What your technically saying, is that nobody should be allowed to leave the pitlane with a lap time + a certain amount of time added on to do another hot lap because it would be dangerous. If it was dangerous, the pit exit would be closed say 30seconds more than what lap times people were doing. The fact they dont, means its perfectly fine, and safe, to allow drivers to come out and do a lap in whatever time they feel they can get enough temperature in the tyres for a hot lap.
That´s a normal scenario when most drivers left the pitlane with loads of time, so if some left it in last seconds (plus a fast lap) there´s no problem to do an almost fast lap with cold tires (as in a race after a pitstop).

But releasing 10 cars with no time for all of them, is a completely different scenario. You´d be forcing drivers to fight with cold tires and dirty air at the same time (as there´s no time for all cars to leave a gap and avoid dirty air) while doing an almost fast lap, and overtaking each other as mad because they know some will not do it so none will accept going at the back of the pack.

That can only be a good idea if you´re eager to cause another red flag
It's not really enough time for the drivers to find space, warm the tyres and brakes up and get over the line before the chequered flag is waved to start a flying lap. It would have caused a big accident with the squabbling that would have gone on or a driver not having the brakes warmed up properly and crashing. It's the nature of Qualifying, you have to get the banker lap in early on in Q3 in case of a red flag at the end.

The race is more interesting now as Max will have to make some great overtakes to win the race, which is possible if things go his way.

For those who have no knowledge of Florida weather, you can literally have a monsoon in one spot, and not a single drop less than a mile away.

available tyres + strategy suggestions from Pirelli:

Used M/H from Aston are one lap old only, as usual. Piastri's set of hards has 5 laps. Alpine could struggle, if tyre wear is high

Teams and Pirelli are so conservative with these strategies, the soft seemed good for a long while, drivers doing more than 3 runs on them... but here we go with 1 stopper M-H.

You can use up to 4 gearboxes a season. Penalties are only applied when you take a 5th.

The tyres are simple too hard. They need to bring back the gimmicky Pirelli rainbow, at least the races would be entertaining again.

True that .. when driving you sometimes go from soaking wet to ultra dry within less than 100 meters, years ago that was very weird to see/experience. I the carib where I live I've seen the same thing in even smaller context; wet to dry in maybe 10m/30ft.

Yeah, just a free choice from C0-C5 .. like it was (order 2mnths ahead por favor).
That would kinda mimick the refuelling tactics of old.

Rain nowadays just means red flags galore. On these street tracks with walls, it’s just a nightmare. Can’t see Perez winning this now, unless it dries out.

Can’t believe how long it took for the red to come out either. Usually it’s instant when a car hits the barrier. Took forever today.
20-25seconds. I bet a lot of that was to create a show for tomorrow.
Think the FIA has been doing this for a while stalling on red or yellow flag decisions or VSC with an eye on entertainment or throwing red flags to create drama which could be a VSC

If they threw the red instantly there would have been enough time for everyone to have an outlap too obvious to me
Leclerc had a relatively minor bump on the barriers, and his car was aimed so that he could actually have driven away if there had been no damage. Only once he takes the steering wheel off it is clear that he won't drive away (which would have given everybody time to abort this lap and complete the next).
This removal of the wheel happened with 1:44 in the clock. The red flag sign appeared with 1:36 in the clock. Actually, 8 seconds is not too shabby to call a red flag, IMO.
The battle with, say, 1:41 in the clock would have been fascinating, though.
