No, or at least not unless lots of drivers went on it. It can be put on 'wet' with linseed oil and it dries to a sort of bar that can give several 'dabs'. I am guessing but I thing 10 or more. It is sometimes used to check if a conveyer belt is scuffing.
We just has "1200" potential offenses today
Ah, that would be a problem
Have a safety car?

No no no, red flag and standing start. Need to create a spectacle

The cost cap. Red flags, Safety Cars, VSCs...

I don't think there's a good solution to this.
How about a penalty system for bodywork like the PU tokens.

Yes, I've been arguing from the position of safety and sporting regs, not repair costs.

The grass and tire barriers serving their purpose. What's the issue?
just because the driver didn't end up in the er or morgue doesn't mean everything is hunky dory.
That's true; and those are examples of grass leading to shunts, for sure. But that's also the point. Grass may cause a shunt, ideally not a bad one. That's where the asphalt instead of gravel/sand/more grass/uneven terrain comes in. Since the that's what seems to be causing the severe instances, not the grass per se.

So, Suzuka but optimized, you might say.
Why not put Gravel where we can, and where we can't put gravel, don't enforce track limits and leave the playing field level? Or simply make the track larger at those points.

Why the need to enforce it? As long as it is managed in such a way as it doesn't interfere with overtaking and a cars width, why not let them run over the limits in select corners?

This track and set of corners are simply an anomaly due to the fact the drivers have difficulty seeing or feeling if they are over the line, but why do we need to care about it so much as there is not any overtaking at that corner anyway and the speed gains are not that big.

Why does the Moto GP allow gravel at Turns 4, 6,7 but not at turn 10?

The amount of run off area I would assume. I had looked at that too. The run off where there is Gravel is very big. I guess the other corners don't have enough relative to the speeds the cars will carry.

Without the reset after 10 seconds penalties, Ocon would have gotten a total of 140 seconds instead of 30.

Was it that the FIA never told the team he was doing off tracks and so logically he continued to drive as if nothing happened? If so it's a farce and not his fault at all.
Albon got 3 warnings within 1,5 lap. :D

White line infringements? Woah, that's race penalties galore.

Deliberately impeding a qualifying lap? Er, sorry, what, where, when, how? Oh, never mind.

What a joke is F1 today.

(Had to delete to check the maths again)
Ocon had 10 lap times deleted as shown in the FIA documents. Without the reset due to "excessive number of infringements", Ocon would have gotten a total of 140 seconds instead of 30. (5+10+15+20+25+30+35 = 140)

Agreed. They are supposed to get fair warning, did he even get a warning, did all of the drivers on the list get a black and white flag? If not, how can this penalty be applied, it seems very stupid.

These are draconian penalties. It's making the sport look like a farce. Considering that certain drivers were crossing the white line and not getting infractions make it even more confusing. This almost seems political. I am very skeptical of how these were applied

A total joke, I wonder if Alan Permane might try to appeal the decision, they have the right to do so.

As i've mentioned already track limits could be monitored in real time accurately, with tech you can find in kids toys.
Down facing camera with light might work; that's what dialtone was also suggesting? Plus review team. They have ride height and slip angle sensors, maybe they could be used to measure instantaneous presence of paint lines. I like the dumb tech redundancy of track:slick-zone:asphalt, or mechanical switches attached to lights (a most basic type of circuit).
