Fingers crossed the fans at silverstone ‘behave’ as the weekend progresses. We shall see during the weekend and the broadcasts and interviews.

Don’t let yourself feel bad for replying to my initial comment(s). We all have our ways and means of expressing ourselves online and on here, and not always things come across as cleanly as they would if spoken in person (if that makes sense)

Enjoy!
Which race was it where supporters of a certain team were burning Mercedes team members in effigy?

Don't think it was Silverstone.
Maybe not, BUT…
Everyone remembers ‘our Nige’ picking up Senna on his celebration lap in ‘92 (I think??); what few remember is that he did so as he was concerned for Senna’s safety as there was a Senna mannequin hanging from a gallows in the crowd near where Senna had broken down.

This seems to be dialogue that occurs every year - please stop playing the ‘hate’ rhetoric, further posting in this vein will be deleted.
Not heard the gallows bit before, so would love to read about it, any links ?

But I wouldn't trust your memory buddy, it wasn't 1992, so shows how well you remember things.

Was it not Alpha Tauri who have brought a new car here? It doesn't look amazing for them. No clear improvement.

Russel got a radio message for double waved at turn 7 as he went through turns 3 and 4. The light panel was also flashing. Id estimate there was 10-15seconds from when we first seen the flashing panel in russell on board to passing the physical marshal post on the straight. 2 light boards and a phyiscal marshal post not displaying yellows. Very slow reacting marshalls and 2 boards not illuminated.
Fixed that for ya, makes things a bit less suggestive/more clear.

Yuki himself was saying that the upgrades didn't do what they expected after fp2 iirc, don't think there'll be any significant improvement in their form until they start buying all the parts possible from RB next year.

One year out (without checking google), it was 1991. Memory is not that bad!

What if I told you that McLaren should start 1-2 the race and Max should be penalized?

.
Penalized for what?
Max overtook before the yellow-flagged mini sector.
Well... it's a bit weird as that's at the end of the straight after T5 into T6 and the panel in T4 (panel 05) was on, then the straight after T5 has 2 panels (06, 07) and 06 was off but 07 was on. There's no way you turn on 05 and 07 but leave off 06, so either 06 was broken or slow to turn on or something like that.

Penalty for Max Verstappen?

The paddock is currently discussing whether Max Verstappen could be penalised. Allegedly, he overtook George Russell under yellow at the end of Q1. Verstappen, however, does not fear any consequences: "I had already passed him before the panel," he says.

The fact is: there is currently no official investigation by the FIA either. Because the TV images show that Verstappen passed Russell with a flashing light signal. According to 'Sky' expert Karun Chandhok, however, this was a white light, not a yellow light, to warn of the slowing Alfa Romeo of Valtteri Bottas.

Only later, when Bottas rolled out, did the light panels switch to yellow. By then, however, Verstappen had already passed Russell. "I don't see a problem there," says Sky pundit Jenson Button.

Breaking news:
Armchair F1 stewards have failed in a Twitter campaign to have Max Verstappen’s pole position stripped for a yellow flag infringement at the British Grand Prix.

I have an idea. One race, combine stewarding with a Strictly Come Dancing telephone voting. David Croft: "Well folks, did he cross the line or didn't he? Text #heoutiseentit for yes, #hecknomasterclassfangioreborn for no."

Ever since they resurfarced the track, on 2018, Copse has been an easy flat for F1 cars on QLF. Yesterday, There was a time, either on Q2 or Q3, when they showed Leclerc onboard with speedometer. Copse was an easy flat at around 290km/h.

OTish:

Is there a topic for the Bread Pitt car? The rear wing and floor edge look interesting. With literally no rules, and the natural desire to make downforce (to make the car easier to drive), I feel there may be some seriously cool tricks to be found there...🤯

everyone was a track edge expert a race ago so...

Anyway in everyone's defense nobody could expect this FIA to display white flag for a parked car when they red flagged sessions for cars parked in the recovery lane.

Yellow sectors can be deceiving. If you are a thousandth behind your personal best, you get a yellow. It doesn't mean you are on a bad lap.

I'm surprised Max was able to conjure that from S3 because all session their only strong sector was S2 with the high speed.

All weekend they've been a bit inferior to Mclaren and Ferrari in T3 as well. Max has been dropping something like a tenth in that single corner all weekend.

His S3 was very quick, the telemetry was shown here right? Or was that another forum? Only the very pre to last turn a small moment, there Lando was quicker, but that happens on the limit. That was also (funnily enough) the only thing we saw of Max during Q3. They just switched to him in the last corners.
Indeed, in truth Max had an edge over Lando in all 3 sectors, Max S2 was bad because of Luffield, missed the apex there clearly.
His car is a little edgy into slow corners, he fights the car a bit through the final chicane, but what he made on the straight, Stowe and the run to the final chicane guarantees him.
