Red Bull RB20

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Very interesting cooler layout.
V- shaped coolers in sidepod, lower one looks to have its outlet very shrouded (would be enlightening to see it from above).
Twin coolers being fed by the cockpit/halo inlet.
It also looks like a cooler placed directly above the V of the engine (could that be a charge-cooler, possibly with the halo coolers on the wet-side for a very short pipe run). There certainly looks to be pipework running to/from it.
Perspective - Understanding that sometimes the truths we cling to depend greatly on our own point of view.

Or my fault for not realizing it  - but don't you think Red Bull's Sidepods are going in that direction? The shape and everything else reminds me a lot of it when you compare it to the STR06.
The whole sidepod is angled downwards and I suspect it will remain so. This aids downwashing in the rear and outwashing in the front, both of which induce lift locally.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

The high central coolers are more auxiliary units, water and oil. Charge air are the ones on the floor of the sidepod

I would asume the vertical inlet goes to the sidepod cooler. The horizontal inlet looks to small to allow enough air. Just an assumption.

Re: Red Bull RB20

outlet has been there relatively unchanged since launch spec rb18. Other teamms have had outlets there and got rid of them too eg f1-75. internal ducting might've changed in the area though

Of all the parts on the launch car, only two were fake:

Unless they can block those inlets off during cold weather.

They're tested the rear louver panel both open and closed. The inner valley louver panel probably has the same function as the rear panel; typical engine cover vent i.e. not dedicated ducted paths.

Apparently Newey was inspired by Ferrari.
