Track surface is terrible

F1 teams doth complain too much. The tar coating is the same is what was poured all over the top of the road surface around my neighbourhood, it's delightfully slippy when wet but is a perfectly standard sealed road surface.

It's still a perfect decent sealed tarmac surface, it's not like Shanghai presented a graded gravel surface for tarmac racing.

It was a delight to see the cars dancing, no?

If the track was too wet and slippy, they all had the options of full wets which they refused to use...

The reality is : the cars with softer suspensions and more understeery setup did well in the wet SQ3 session.

A track that anyway has low grip, in the wet; I am surprised there was no red flag in Q3. If tomorrow morning is wet as well, we are in for a really messy sprint race.

It's simpler than that. A session like this is all about tyre temps, who can keep it, which car is better at getting it. I wouldn't expect cars that are "good on the tyres" to have a good time, see RB and Ferrari.
