Perez solid 7 tenths slower than Max on average on a 1 min 10s lap and unable to keep pace with ferrari ahead. mega performance
Actually, if you see, it's been a consistent thing : when the top 4 cars are closer to each other than ever before, probably in the entire history of the sport -> most skillfull driver in top 4 teams finishes 1st, least skillful driver in the top 4 teams finishes 8th. I think this is all Redbull want, they aren't interested in WCC, they just want WDC.

isn't there a hint of more deg for McLaren than Redbull ? or are my eyes tricking me ?

Lap 4-5 was a Verstappen masterclass. Norris was ahead with DRS towards T4 and went to P3
agree completely. Honestly, I wasn't expecting VER to win the sprint. To drive the opening 10 laps without DRS, on a track with 3 DRS zones, with just 10 corners, with two McLarens behind gaining 0.3-0.4 every lap on straights, it meant that he had to 'create the gap that would be sacrificed to DRS' through the quick direction change high speed turns 6-7-8-9. Which he did.

Something which impressed me most was the reaction to NOR divebomb in 3. There was a moment VER had to stop the car momentarily, inorder to not hit the left rear of NOR because he too braked abruptly. It was not an over-under move, NOR guarded against over-under by placing his car in the middle of the corner (the upward slope at 3 helping massively). Still, from 3 to 4 VER drove in the slipstream of DRS-ing NOR and pounced on the door left open at 4. It was clean racing, but it was also a skill show.

VER is battle hardened with one-on-ones. Six more months of these two dogfighting, and NOR will hone his racecraft and become proper WDC material.

It seems more like Piastri was slowing Norris down.

Yup. Rb's deg is nothing special again. I think Norris is likely to have had the best pace at the end of the race in clean air

what another boring sprint race and the mclaren drivers once again just unable to captilalize on their opportunities. Lando really needs to learn how to get his elbows out instead of kowtowing to the mearest hint of max poking in. he had a strong chance of winning the race today.

Congratulations to Lando Norris once again! What a drive mate…I’ve never seen a driver letting the door wide open while battling for the lead of a race! =D>
You gain experience of things like this by being in "that place you remember". Lando has not had much of it, so I have little doubt it is seared into his memory for next time

Norris has speed but clearly doesn't have the race craft. When attacking or defending from Max you simply cannot give him the inside! And Norris did this twice! I really can't see Norris challenging Max for the championship even if the Mclaren develops into 3 tenths faster.. really can't see it.

My God, this announcer is the worst? Who is he? All he does is repeat the running order like a scratched record! ugh. If he's commenting on the qualifying later, I'm not watching Sky.

QUALIFYING: It's 15 minutes to Q1 & we have the hottest conditions of the race weekend, with air temp at 31.6C & the track 47.8C. Light wind prevailing from the SW. Dry & sunny; FIA official risk of rain is zero.

Harry Benjamin I believe. He needs to calm down. I don’t mind him on F2 and F3 but his ranting at the end of yesterday’s sprint quali has me turning the sound off…

At this rate I’ll be glad to have Croft back.
