The fact that Norris should of won the last 5 races and hasn't speaks alot to me tbh. He ain't ready for this. Alonso, Max and Lewis would of. Thats why he's being hard on himself and rightly so. Thats not championship pedigree.
100%

And the team is not championship material either. Any hope of winning the championship (which they had/have) and Piastri should NEVER finish ahead in a situation where the alternative does not favour Max.

Sorry, but go back and watch Max's and the overhead shot from that lap in 0.1x or 0.25x speed. Lewis is turning into a right hander corner at 75yards out. Thats when his car moves over from the left of the track to the inside.
75 yards? He can’t make an instant 90* turn

Of course someone with a Max avatar would have such a take.
Horner just agreed with Ted that Max was never making the corner and says he believes its a racing incident but will see
Clever politicking. Conceding a little to create the narrative

Lewis and Max have been in the stewards room for 5 mins now according to Ted, might get a decision soon

75 yards? He can’t make an instant 90* turn  They’re doing over 75 yards / s coming into that braking zone (more like 95+ yards / s)

Of course someone with a Max avatar would have such a take.

You’re allowed to take a corner, he has to turn towards the apex rather than follow maxs trajectory towards the outer fence. There were two cars width on the inside. Look at the car behind that was being lapped which was almost able to over take Hamilton who had to pretty much stop because of max divebombing through. Hamilton was no where near aiming for the apex, what is he supposed to do? Drive off the track?
Watch the following onboard of Lewis where he takes the corner again. He turns in a good 50yards later to hit the apex of turn 1.
It was the movement under breaking that caused Max's car to unload grip on the tyres and lock up.
Movement or no movement, Max was never making the corner. Even the most biased actor, Horner, seems to agree on that.

I just rewatched the incident with onboard telemetry.

The thing about moving under braking is that you're actually allowed to do so, except if it forces another driver to have to take evasive action.

Lewis definitely moved under braking here, and Max definitely did have to take avoiding action himself. Whether or not that caused the lockup is up for debate. Personally i think Verstappen would have locked up either way.

They were both in the wrong. Racing incident, maybe 60/40 on Verstappen.

Your missing the moving under breaking from Lewis though.
That's a trail braking corner. Hamilton used the same line while defending before that. I think Verstappen got frustrated and dive bombed

They were past the 50M board. Hamilton used that same defensive line the the few prior laps before. Verstappen got desperate and sent it and locked up. Why should the leading driver jump out of the way for a dive bomb. This was a case of --- around and find out. Verstappen took a risk and he paid the price

Lap 64

Lap 65

(footage a bit jumpy for some reason.)

But look how much later Lewis is turning into turn 1 than when Max was going for the overtake.

I love how Verstappen who had been complaining about under steer the whole race,, reaching that corner with such overspeed, could ever think he was making that corner without Hamilton just driving straight off track

Lewis was turning/moving over before the 50m board on lap 63 however. The onboard and the overhead shot confirms that. There is a white line across the track at the 100m board for reference.

Did anyone catch what Norris was saying to Lewis in the green room? Something about how he had the fastest car for 7 years and now it's their turn. Well Lando, you sure aren't doing a good enough job so far with the fastest car.

Your whole argument hinges on that Max doesn't have to make the corner to be ahead. Why even brake then? Just drive up the inside with no hope of making the corner and when you pass by someone 20kmh faster because they are trying to hit the apex, throw your hands up in the air and say “well I was ahead at apex”.

If this were a street circuit, Max would have a car that’s a meter shorter doing that crap.

Even Horner, the most biased and biggest Max apologist can’t even defend it. GP basically called it childish.

Max had the faster car and he would have gotten by a lap later, but he’s his dad’s son, and we know Jos’s history (and he should probably be in jail for it)

I believe that Verstappen missed the braking point and braked late. Hamilton, on the other hand, said in the statement that he saw Verstappen braking late and pulled the car in anyway, so it certainly can't be said that he was trying to avoid contact.

Except Lewis didn't make the apex because he was avoiding a bigger contact.
