It's sad Alonso isn't 33 years old.
Right here and now Aston won't fly, and probably next year either.
Newey is already secretly working whit some advice on 2024 car.
Source: secret.
are u kidding?
Look at Loic Serra, hes on gardaining leave, moving from mercedes to take cardilles job at ferrari. And hes been working with ferrari For the last couple of months. Not saying that newey is doing the same with aston, but it obviously happens. And serra is doing it without much worry of getting into any trouble from what has been posted in the media. Im sure newey would be doing it more privately of course.

The point is, we dont know how much, or little it takes to get the car more competitive. It could just take a few changes that the team are missing to put aston on the heels of the top 4. 25 aint gonna be a championship year, but it would be nice to fight for a podium or 2 haha

What are you talking?
Serra Starts working at Maranello in October, he is not part of the Ferrari team currently.

What i said buddy. Hes rumoured to have been working behind the scenes with ferrari for over a month makng changes to their technical structure. If hes doing that, whats to stop him from sharing info about technical aspects of the car.

Maybe they do share knowledge to some extent during gardening leave, maybe they dont share much. It would be near impossible for anyone to know if they did. With f1 being as competitive as it is, youd have to be naive to think that it doesnt happen sometimes. If Aston show up in winter testing like they did in 23, i think we will have a pretty good idea that theres been something going on. That is, if newey in fact does sign with aston…

You wrote it that way like Serra goes in and out already at Maranello and everyone knows it. „Rumoured to work already behind the scenes“ and share infos is maybe the usual stuff…

Marko said to Schmidt (AMuS) for example that the rear of the 2024 McLaren is a copy of the 2023 RBR. Consequence of the move from Marshall, although he started working at January 2024.

Nothing really new, also Schmidt speculates that employees could get shares to save money for the cap (but really just wild speculations).

About ALO:
Fernando Alonso made everything right in the review.
On paper it's the chance of his life time to win again.
Once get the feeling that he's given himself a little break currently because the car is not good enough for podium places. It seems like the old warrior wants to save all his energy for his last big battle.

An Aston Martin source told BBC Sport that Newey has made a long-term commitment to the team, said to be a five-year contract worth up to a possible £30m a year, including bonuses and add-ons.

The deal will be announced at a news conference organised by Aston Martin at their F1 base at Silverstone on Tuesday.

Newey, who in April negotiated an early exit from his contract as Red Bull chief technical officer, will start work in early March.

Early March? If I'm not wrong other sources previously said April or after Q1, so if true that's a little better

He's going to recoup a lot of his investment. He bought this team when the sport was at a low and probably for not very much. The team itself appreciated and it's worth over a billion dollars now. It's actually incredible how well this worked for him, and to end up with Newey in the end. Lawrence is a genius

Schmidt also writes „in the course of Q1“. Maybe 6th September + 6 months…

Stroll will make a hell of a deal once he sold the complete company.

That's his core competency. He built an organization & make money by divesting. Getting Newey on-bord is part of building ‘Company Valuation’.
It will be interesting to see the valuation of AM after Newey on-board.

Don't think that money goes all to him. He has controling interest in AM F1. He doesn't own all of it.

It will go to consortium he built with close business partners. That's the modus operandi for all his deals.

i think i heard today that the net worth is 1.5 billion. and its only going to go up in the short term i would think. f1 isnt like it was a few years ago, where teams were struggling to make ends meet. for better or for worse, every team is making a profit just from being there. so teams like Andretti have to wait forever to even get a chance, and alpine can half ass their way along forever. until they start to realize how bad it makes the brand look. it is crazy that stroll came in and spent a few hundreds of millions and is still going to probably turn a proffit though haha

Yes the rumours are true, it is a done deal with the capital fund Accel and private credit HPS Investment Partners that are set to invest between 1,5 and 2 billion $. So yes, Lawernce decided to sell part of the team. Aston will make an announcement soon.

Very strange that Aramco did not participate.

Alpine is different story, there is no will to invest to win or to sell. Newey and Horner went to see Carlos Ghosn at the time to ask for more investment and his answer was that they are in F1 only because their marketing team said to him to stay. Since then nothing changed. Maybe with Briatore things will change.
