Looks like his delta laptime was 1:51.5 for 4 laps did a 1:50.7, then pushed hard to do a 1:49.2, then back to delta, then must have traffic for the rest after he did 1:51.0 on his 9th lap because after that he was 2 -3 seconds a lap slower. So maybe the pace isnt that bad.

So the delta laptime is over 2 seconds slower than when the car is pushing. Do they really drive 2 seconds slower in F1 to make the tires last a stint?

He was actually fastest when he was following Albon, he was using DRS. He didn't always use DRS, it has a big effect in lap time. Not sure why he didn't always used DRS, Albon did.

He seemed to want to go in early and try a final lap on the softs...they said no.

Remember, the long runs are more about sticking to a time you think you can, then looking at the consumption on the tire to get a target time for the race. So just because they were targeting 1:51 during FP2, it doesn't mean that's what they'll do during the race. They'll correct depending on what they see.

The thing is even though the cars will be different, 2026 will still have some ground effect.
They just gotta keep learning.

Tight lipped about the floor testing ... we don't even know what floor was being used when.

That's probably why Alonso wanted to go in early to try a quali on the floor used long runs.

They prepared 3 sets for the race (2x hard, 1x medium), so they think it’s going to be a 2 stopper for them.

Apparently, Alonso used an old floor pre-hungary. It would be a surprise if its Imola spec floor

AM used the Imola's floor in Alonso's car on FP3, so, how we could expect. they still not understand that car. They never understand. Hungary interviews was lies again and again. I doubt they just testing for compare data, but, maybe?

According to him this weekend is a reflection of the season unfortunately. They thought they were better, in reality it will be tough. Grip didn't improve over the sessions as they thought it would, which hurts them.
